Chats and Files: pick up conversations and find what was produced
Chats keeps what you have discussed with your agents and with the people in your organization. Files gathers the documents your agents create and the ones you upload, with versions and a trash so nothing gets lost. Here you learn to find, write, upload and recover.
On this page
- Find a conversation
- Write to the office or to an agent
- Talk to the people on your team
- Go back to past work
- Browse your files
- Upload your own files
- Search by name, content or meaning
- Recover an earlier version or a deleted file
Find a conversation#
In Chats, the “Conversations” list starts with “General”, which shows everything in order: what you wrote to the office and what you wrote to each agent. Below it there is one thread per agent.
- Open “Chats” in the side menu.
- Press “General” to see everything, or an agent to see only their thread. Agents with recent activity come first and a number shows unread messages.
- To search, type in “Search titles and messages…”. The list is replaced by the “Results”, with the match highlighted.
- Press “Clear search” to go back to the list.
Write to the office or to an agent#
- Pick “General” or an agent in the list.
- Type your message in the box at the bottom and send it.
- Check under your message which agents it was sent to: in General, the office routes it to the right agent; in an agent's thread, it goes straight to them.
Tip
In an agent's thread, “See in the office” takes you to their desk in the 3D scene.
Talk to the people on your team#
The “Team” section of the list gathers chats between people: the organization-wide channel, direct messages and groups, which you can also add agents to.
- Press “New” in the “Team” section.
- Choose “Direct message” and a person, or “Group”, a name and its members (people and agents).
- Press “Create” and write. Use @ to mention people or agents.
Note
Admins can also create “Department” and “Project” channels. With the Read only role you can read chats but not write.
Go back to past work#
Every time you ask the office for work, the agents' internal conversation about it is kept in “Past conversations”. It is read only: to keep talking, write in General or to an agent.
The messages that started a piece of work carry “View report” and “View project” to jump straight to the result.
- Click a conversation in “Past conversations” to read it.
- Use “Rename” to give it a title you recognize.
- Press “Archive” to take it out of the list; “Show archived” shows them and “Restore” brings them back.
- Press “Delete” and confirm with “Yes, delete” to erase it with its messages.
Warning
Deleting a conversation erases it for good along with its messages. Only an Admin or the Owner can do it.
Browse your files#
Files holds the documents your agents create and the ones you upload. You start at “Home”, with four root folders:
- Open “Files” in the side menu.
- Press a folder to enter it. The table shows “Name”, “Last change”, “Version”, “Size” and “Updated”.
- Press a file to open it in the right panel. Text, CSV, Markdown, JSON and YAML files are previewed there; anything else opens with “Download”.
- Use the folder path at the top to go back: press a segment to go up to that folder, or “Home” to return to the root.
| Folder | What it holds | Which agents read it |
|---|---|---|
| Agent desks | One folder per agent with its work | Each agent, its own |
| Projects | One folder per project, with its deliverables and inputs | The agents assigned to that project |
| Clients | Material for each client | Only agents that are granted access |
| Shared | Common office material | Every agent |
Tip
The “Last change” column tells you whether an agent, a person or the system made it.
Upload your own files#
- Enter a folder: you cannot upload at “Home”.
- Press “Upload” and choose one or more files, or drag them from your computer onto the screen.
- Drop the files when you see the notice with the destination folder and wait for them to finish uploading.
Note
By default, each file can be up to 25 MB. Which agents can read it depends on the folder, as the table above shows.
Search by name, content or meaning#
Type in “Search files…” and press Enter. The search looks at names and the text inside files, and each result shows a snippet. Press a result to go to its folder, or “Close” to return to the list.
Turn on “By meaning” to search passages by what they mean, also inside PDFs and long documents. Each result shows the page and the snippet.
Tip
If search by meaning is not available, the app tells you and shows results by words.
Recover an earlier version or a deleted file#
Every time a person or an agent changes a file, a version is saved, and “Move to trash” only sends it to the “Trash”, where you can restore it.
- Open a file and look at its “Version history”. Press a version (v1, v2…) to see how it was.
- Press “Restore” if you prefer that version. A new version is created with that content; history is never erased.
- To recover a deleted file, press “Trash” and then “Restore” next to the file. It goes back to its folder.
- Press “Trash” again to return to your files.
Note
Moving a file to the trash requires the Admin or Owner role.
